Skadovsk: Invincible Cities (January 2023)

“Skadovsk: Invincible Cities” documents the experience of civilian resistance and local governance under Russian occupation in the city of Skadovsk, Kherson region. Produced by AMES, the documentary highlights how public rallies, protests, and other forms of nonviolent resistance were combined with the efforts of local authorities to sustain essential services and support residents from the first days of the full-scale invasion. Through testimonies and local experiences, it illustrates how civic mobilisation and institutional resilience enabled the community to preserve its functioning, maintain social cohesion, and uphold its Ukrainian identity while awaiting liberation.
